Introduction
PlanGo is *the* leading platform for driving schools in The Netherlands. Their platform excels in helping instructors manage student interactions such as sending invoices, assigning homework and scheduling new driving lessons. As such, PlanGo saw a new valuable opportunity in their industry: the need to expand their services to directly cater to people wanting to get their driver's license.
Challenge
PlanGo’s vision is to create a new platform that helps users seeking a driver's license throughout their whole journey. To achieve this, they needed a strong brand that would appeal to -a mainly- adolescent audience. Along with a well-designed mobile app, an appealing website for promotional and marketing purposes, and marketing collateral to match.
Deliverables
As this would be a completely stand-alone app, the platform needed its own name and identity separate from the PlanGo brand. We conducted naming and brand workshops to create a modern, approachable brand identity that aligned with the target audience’s needs. The name “On My Way” was a perfect match.
To ensure On My Way met every aspect of the user's journey in obtaining a driver's license, we focused on comprehensive user research. These insights guided our design process, allowing us to design an experience that mapped out each of the user's steps and made them look the part too. From milestones like researching driving schools and preparing for the practical exam, to small wins like practicing theory and scheduling the next lesson.
Brand Design
It was important for the target audience that the brand would feel playful, modern, not too serious but would still come across as trustworthy. Through explorations and input from our branding workshops, we created three brand concepts; one of which got the client excited to hit the gas pedal and get going! The winning concept, "Go Anywhere," captures their vision for On My Way; a platform that motivates users to become independent. A platform to help them feel empowered. One that encourages them to explore beyond the limits of where their bike could take them.
Naming
One thing that had yet to be decided was the brand name. Through our brand naming process, we guided the PlanGo team toward a name that stood out—a name that represented the brand’s essence and personality: On My Way.
AI
Learning for a driver’s license can feel tedious, especially with outdated theory content. We addressed this by designing diverse learning methods, including varied reading materials and question formats, making the process engaging and accessible. "On My Way" is designed to be intuitive, offering clear progress tracking and insights into next steps. Whether users have 5 minutes on the bus or a few hours after school, they can easily dive in, stay motivated with milestone rewards, and keep track of their achievements effortlessly.
Consistency
The website served as the first step in simplifying the complex journey of obtaining a driver’s license, making it clear that On My Way offers a modern, efficient, and user-centered solution. It was designed not just to inform, but to actively engage and spark excitement in visitors by highlighting key features the app has like milestone tracking, practice tools, and personalized progress insights. By showcasing how the app consolidates these features, we highlight On My Way’s unmissable value to the driver’s license journey.
